Hot press forming is a simple and common processing method in the plastics processing industry. Hot press forming is sometimes divided into vacuum forming and compression molding, and their pressure application methods are not the same. Compression molding mostly involves placing plastic in a mold to heat it to soften, and then applying pressure to shape it. The applied pressure by vacuum forming can be vacuuming on one side, or vacuuming on one side and high pressure on the other side.
Compared with other processing methods, hot press forming has the advantages of cheap mold and uniform thickness of the finished product.
